Week 1 - Action Poses

We were given a task to look for five action poses and translate it by using ‘moom’ characters. At first ‘mooms’ were hard to pose because of the rigging, because part of the body couldn’t reach a certain distance that a human could reach. However, I have gotten used to it and began posing.

This was a hard pose to do because of the clothing and not being able to see the lines/ spine. To understand the pose, I had to draw a line with my mind whilst constructing ‘moom’. I think this pose is not far from being successful. Refining this, I would change the shoulders and move the hips more and give the right leg more weight to make it look less weak.

I decided to compare some of the poses that I did last year and see if I have improved.

In my opinion, I have improved because comparing to what I know now I have more control over ‘moom’ than I did last year. However, it seemed I had more fun and time posing ‘moom’ then. This year I posed ‘moom’ faster than I normally would, for example, 5-10 minutes, normally it would take longer but now is less.
